Middle school students have the opportunity to complete an assignment for ten extra credit points. This assignment is due by December 20th at 3:15,either in my school mailbox or in my email inbox. Late extra credit will not be accepted.
Create a list of the top ten technology-related stories of 2013.
To create your list, start by searching for websites that have a top 10 list for 2013.
Choose three of those sites.
Compare their lists to see if they have any stories in common. Add those stories to the top of your list.
Once you have those stories, find the ones on those lists that you think are the most important or affect the greatest number of people and use those to round out your top ten.
You will turn in your top ten list and the three websites you compiled it from. You may write the list by hand, use Microsoft Word (if you’re using Word, you’ll need to do it from home because our school computers no longer have that program), or complete the assignment in Google docs.
Hints and tips: If you don’t find what you are looking for the first time you search, try changing up your search terms. You can even use a different search engine if you’d like. I got good results from using Google and Dogpile.com. Be careful, though. Some of their search results are advertisements and won’t help you.
Don’t wait until Friday morning to start. This assignment may take you longer than you think.
If you have any questions, shoot ’em my way!
